Pricing methodology
How ShipScanner calculates and labels prices.

Published tariffs
A published-tariff result is calculated from an official public consumer rate table. For India Post Parcel, we determine the route category and chargeable weight, apply the published slab and add applicable GST. Volumetric weight is considered where the published service rules require it.
Third-party platform estimates
These are requested in real time through a server-side third-party shipping platform using the origin, destination, weight, dimensions and payment type supplied by the user. They are account-level platform rates, not guaranteed consumer-retail checkout prices. We show the lowest eligible service returned for each carrier family.
Official-site checks
If we cannot obtain a defensible comparable amount, we show no price and link to the carrier’s own calculator. We never fill missing values with an invented retail price.
Ranking
Only priced options participate in Cheapest, Fastest and Best Value ranking. Best Value combines price and delivery estimate. An estimate badge does not mean endorsement or guaranteed availability.
Limitations
Final charges may change after address validation or physical measurement and may include fuel, remote-area, COD, insurance, handling, taxes or content-specific charges. Users should always confirm the payable amount on the official carrier channel.
